NEED TO KNOW: LARSEN & LUND

NEED TO KNOW: LARSEN & LUND

I’m excited to tell you guys about this gorgeous accessories line that I stumbled across not too long ago. Larsen & Lund is an environmentally conscious fashion and accessories line based out of Los Angeles. All the leather in their products is upcycled. This means that the leather they use comes from other manufacturers who have leftover pieces of material that would otherwise go unused. They use these materials to create beautiful bags, accessories, and clutches while at the same time reducing waste.

I absolutely love the elegant and minimalist design of their collection. All the clutches would work perfectly for everyday use or just as good for evening wear. The Large Black Clutch is one of my favorites. I’m a sucker for a beautiful black leather clutch that looks good with everything in my closet…

BORA BORA RECAP

BORA BORA RECAP

The second half of our honeymoon was spent in Bora Bora. We took a short flight from Temae, Moorea to Bora Bora and then grabbed a boat to our hotel. We spent 5 nights at the Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort & Spa and I highly recommend it. Bora Bora is more touristy than Moorea, but for good reason. It’s completely off the grid and if you want to venture off the resort, you have to take a boat. The views are unreal and below are a few of my favorite photos.

We spent an afternoon touring the Island with Moana Adventure Tours. We had an unbelievable guide that showed us his family’s island, where to find the best coral, and even took us swimming with rays (and sharks). It was one of my favorite experiences from the trip and if you go, this is an absolute must.

Most of our days consisted of lounging on our deck reading or relaxing on the beach.

Our trip was even better than we anticipated and lived up to all the expectations we had. Before you book a trip to French Polynesia, there are a few things you should know…

Mosquitos. I’m not kidding when I say that you need bug spray with you all-the-time. They will literally eat you alive. Be smart and buy some before you go or else pay upwards of $25 for a small bottle. Ouch.

Also, if you want to travel in the Fall (like we did), go in early or mid October so that you miss the beginning of their rainy season. We caught the early part and it wasn’t terrible, but we had a few rainy days.

Last, plan your tours early. There are a lot of people trying to do the same activities so try and figure out what you want to do and just book it.

French Polynesia was the trip of a lifetime and I’m looking forward to our next adventure…

{Resort Maxi by Pink Stitch, Banana Republic Double-Bow Fedora, Anthropologie clutch and necklace (a few years old, but see similar below)}

This month’s Bloggers Who Budget theme is maxi dresses under $100. Summer is right around the corner, which means maxi dress season is upon us. There’s no better way to beat the heat than by putting on your favorite maxi and calling it a day.

My dress is the Pink Stitch Resort Maxi Dress for $84. These dresses are so good for the price. The cutout back and ruching make this dress a summer must-have and I’m tempted to grab one in every single color. Fit tip: the bust tends to run a bit small, so consider sizing up. If you are looking for a printed maxi under $100, peep this Zig Zag Resort Maxi that I wore for our April Bloggers Who Budget Prints + Patterns Collab.

A great fedora is essential and just adds to any summer look whether it be a maxi or cut-offs. Mine is the Double Bow Fedora and you can find this gem at your local Banana Republic. The jewelry and clutch were bought a few years ago at Anthropologie, but I found a few that are similar (see below).

There’s no shortage of affordable maxi dress inspiration this month, so be sure to check out all the Bloggers Who Budget below!
