This whole sheltering at home thing is getting very hard. I don’t want to make this post negative at all because I’m trying to stay on the positive side of things, but we are all going a bit crazy over here.
With that in mind, I want to share five things that are making my days a bit brighter. We are trying not to spend a lot of money right now, but I have made a few purchases that have changed my mood for the better and made my outlook brighter. Below are five things to help make sheltering at home better for you and your loved ones (just you, let’s be honest).
1// Prince Lionheart Catchall / $15 for 2 of them
If you have kids, these are seriously the best thing since nap time. I strategically place these under their kitchen chairs (where they eat) and at the end of mealtime, I fling out all the crumbs and scraps that have accumulated over the course of the day. It cuts clean-up time in half which makes me so happy at the end of the night. Also, these bad boys work as craft mats for those of us who cringe at the thought of having to scrub paint and other such craft things off walls and tables.
2// ATM Linen Stripe Pants / $79.99 plus 40% off
Oh sweet Jesus where have these been all my life. I think I have been looking for this pair of pants for five years. These are so lightweight and comfortable without looking sloppy. I’m not the biggest fan of shorts, but I also don’t want to sweat my a** off all summer. The best part is that these are on an insane discount. If you are between sizes, size up because these are not the type of pants that you want to fit snug. Do the half tuck with a white tee plus your favorite sandal and you are golden.
3// Emerson Fry Baja Caftan / $158
I know, I know. I am obsessed with this line and I’m OK with it. You guys, this looks super cool on the beach, but I would wear this every day in the summer too. The color is so good and so is the length. You can for sure chase kids down in this or be comfy in it and lay poolside. I feel strong about this caftan and it makes me very happy thinking that it might be mine.
4// Dôen Joan Dress / $198
First off, I want to say that I am feeling these vibes. When this Covid garbage is over, I want to spin around in this dress with a beer in my hand ideally somewhere amazing like right here. I’ll settle for my front yard though. How pretty is this dress? I also love it styled open without the belt for those caftan vibes. Also, it’s perfect for going straight from the pool to cocktails. That’s a lofty goal for my life right now, but one can dream. I’m into it.
5// Elsie Green Baskets / $69
These baskets have made me so much happier because they keep clutter hidden and look beautiful at the same time. I keep this exact basket (size large) by our back porch and all our shoes go in there and stay there. No more muddy shoes all over the living room. I first saw these on Alicia’s blog and immediately ordered a few. They are sturdy and perfect for anyone who loves a classic neutral basket. You will be so happy with these.
I hope everyone is staying safe and staying at home during this tough time. Reach out to me with any questions or if you need helping finding any of these products.
